Job Details:
Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. The Senior Network Engineer design, build and maintain the systems and network infrastructure that are needed for daily business operations to build a secure, reliable, and scalable network, cloud, or server environments.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Maintaining, monitoring and upgrading the Virtual Service Environment (VSE) environments and servers;
- Planning, designing, developing, testing and maintaining new or existing virtual service developments in accordance with guidelines and in collaboration with stakeholders;
- Configuring and deploying virtual services and servers in accordance with the applications operational model governed by application owners;
- Defining and leading the analysis, planning, execution, delivery and performance improvement activities;
- Promoting the adoption of virtual services to ICT stakeholders and project teams through workshops;
- Undertaking a range of activities in support of the management and operation of the Department’s secure Internet gateway, secure systems, data centre and network services;
- Implementing and managing major/minor project work to support Departmental initiatives;
- Undertaking enhancement and remediation activities across network and gateway systems;
- Managing multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines;
- Liaising with external and internal service providers as required;
- Providing support with infrastructure capacity and planning including mainframe.
